Original antique French carved and painted Louis 16th style armchair. 1900

On offer here is this antique French Louis 16th style armchair. It has a decorative carved wooden frame which has been painted with a creamy white paint. Very much in the style of the now popular Louis 16th style of armchair.

The seat back and arms are all cane work. Beautifully carved in very fine detail this would have been an expensive item furniture when new. Often the cane work furniture was designed for the conservatory so it was a little bit cooler to sitting in the summer. This one has an upholstered seat cushion which ties on top of the Cain work seat.

All of the cane work is original, as you are looking at the chair the external can work on the left-hand arm has a little damage (see picture) this has been taken into account when pricing.
