Here we have an old display cabinet which we have totally transformed into a lovely, stylish piece of furniture. The first job was getting rid of the horrible doors and then with it being an old cabinet with the odd chip and scratches we decided on a dual coloured effect. We painted firstly with 2 coats of pure white and then added Provence liberally to most areas.. For the inside of the top half, more Provence was needed for the effect we wanted.. Next came hours of sanding for slight age and colour blend and then we added an assortment of French motifs to the upper compartment and then sanded them. The bottom cupboards have been left as they were inside. We haven't used anything as a finish to this item. Normally we finish with either wax or varnish. The reason being is that it looks fantastic to the eye with its chalky Matt finish.. The inside has 2 glass shelves and if you look at one of the photos you will see that we have illuminated the upper with 3 silver glow push lights.. Remember tis is an old piece with a few chips and scratches but we have added a style wonderfully so that it really doesn't matter.. This is a stunning, quirky and quite unique piece of decor and viewing is definately recommended.
